ECEC has successively undertaken dozens
of projects in city gas industry since 1982, including:
• Shijiazhuang Domestic Gas Project.
Storage & distribution station: 50,000m3; User:
30,000 households.
• Phase I, II & III City Gas Projects,
Huainan, Anhui Province. Storage & distribution station:
3 x 50,000m3 & 1 x 60,000m3. User:
phase I for 25,000 households, phase II increased to 57,000
households and phase III increased to 100,000 households.
• City Gas Project, Lu'an, Anhui Province.
Storage & distribution station: 20,000m3; User: 8,000 households.
• City Gas Project, Panji No. 2 Coal
Mine, Huainan, Anhui Province. Gas supply: 20,000m3;
Storage & distribution station: 20,000m3; User:
3,000 households.
• Liquefied Petroleum Gas Project,
China Merchants Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Anhui Province. Storage
& distribution station: 5,000m3, annual storage
capacity: 60,000 tons.

Huainan is a medium-sized city mainly based
on coal production. Residents of the city mainly use bituminous
coal, silt coal and anthracite as the fuel, which cause the
dust content in the atmosphere seriously exceeds relevant
standards.
Phase I of the City Gas project supplied
the mixed gas of purge gas from ammonia synthesis and coke
oven gas with capacity of 5 x 104 m3/d for 25,000 households
and some industrial consumers since 1984. This project was
completed and put into operation in the same year. Since then,
phase II and III of the project were successively constructed.
Now, a gas plant, two gas storage & distribution stations
with capacity of 5 x 104 m3 each, one gas storage & distribution
station with capacity of 6 x 104 m3, medium-pressure main
pipes of 30 kilometers and low-pressure main pipes of more
than 200 kilometers have been completed. There are now up
to 100,000 gas users.
