It has been more than 40 years since China
began in 1956 the production of titanium dioxide pigments
used for enamel and electrodes. The annual total capacity
of the country's titanium dioxide products has been rapidly
expanded from about 20,000mt/a in early 1980s to current 460,000mt/a.
By the end of 2002, there are 58 plants producing the titanium
dioxide product all over China, in which there are 24 plants
whose capacity has reached more than 10,000mt/a.
Today, China's titanium dioxide consumption
ranks the second in the world, while the United States of
America ranks the first.
There are two important milestones in the
development of China's titanium dioxide industry. The first
one is in the mid of 1980s, when numerous technical achievements
of producing titanium dioxide by ¡°sulphate process¡± have been
obtained through key technical problem-tackling project named
¡°comprehensive utilization of panzhihua vanadium-titanium
magnetite mine resource¡± which remarkably improved the production
technology of China's titanium dioxide industry. The second
one is in the late 1980's and early 1990s when China imported
3 sets 15,000mt/a titanium dioxide plants by ¡°sulphate process¡±
and one set 15,00mt/a titanium dioxide plant by ¡°chloride
process¡± which brought significant development of China¡¯s
titanium dioxide industry.
ECEC has been deeply involved in every single
stage of the development of China's titanium dioxide industry.
As an engineering company, ECEC is the only one in china making
its persistent efforts in the whole history of the industry
organizing or taking part in the activities of national planning
of the industry, technology importing, technology improvement,
key technical problem tackling, etc. ECEC's endeavors positioned
itself as an incomparable leader in the building of titanium
dioxide pigment plants in China.

all the titanium dioxide plants in China whose capacity is

Process features: The project was elaborately designed and
implemented by ECEC with rational arrangement, smooth process
route, elegant layout and careful consideration for future
expansion requirements. The plant was put into commercial
operation successfully as scheduled. At present, the capacity
of the plant has reached nearly 18,000mt/a, exceeding the
original design capacity with wide appraisal from the client
and experts for the excellent product quality as well as energy-saving
performances. As a result, the products of the company are
very popular not only in domestic markets but also among the
clients from USA, Europe and Southeast Asia. As an example,
GE of USA repeated orders for the company's product.
